Ripinski Trail (Skyline Trailhead) Boardwalk and Stair Repairs
Throughout July and August of 2025, Bart Piecuil, Nate Mohan, and Nate Arrants repaired and constructed nearly 1000ft of boardwalk and stairs. The previous structures had mostly been installed in 2007, with some sections dating back all the way to the 1970s. Many of the boardwalks and stairs had collapsed, and proved to be a huge safety hazards for hikers and their pets on one of Haines’ most popular trails. Funding from the Rasmuson Foundation, Haines Borough, and Community Waste Solutions supported the project. A huge thank you to those organizations, as well as volunteer Drew Elegante for installing hundreds of shingles for grip!
