Skyline Trail Repairs
Summer 2025 repair and construction of broken stairs and boardwalks on the Ripinski Trail (Skyline Trailhead).
Winter Trail Grooming
HHT volunteers routinely groom multiple winter trail sites throughout the Chilkat Valley for the community to ski, snowshoe, bike, and walk on.

Haines Visitor Center Trail Map Design
In collaboration with the Haines Visitor Center, HHT designed and printed a new trail map for locals and visitors.
Tukga Hut Construction
From early 2023 through late 2024, over 100 volunteers constructed the Chilkat Valley’s first year-round public use cabin, the Tukga Hut.
Story Trails
The Story Trails project aims to provide place-based interactive learning opportunities through short podcasts and children’s stories, which are accessible via QR code at various viewpoints on trails around Haines.
Ripinski and Riley Trail Long-Term Use Licenses and Easements
Haines Huts and Trails worked with the Haines Borough, University of Alaska, and the Mental Health Trust Authority Lands Office to ensure long-term public access to our trails.
